The MINI Cooper Coupe premiered in 2011 at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The car has become a serial version of the concept of the same name, submitted two years earlier. The production of the Mini Coupe with the R58 index continued until 2015, after which the company ceased production of the model.
The MINI Coupe is the first double model in the history of the British three-volume body: the luggage compartment, passenger space and engine compartment are separated from each other.
The car was equipped with a rear spoiler, which is automatically activated when reaching a speed of 80 km / h. When the speed drops to 60 km / h, the mechanism retracts the wing into the trunk lid. The spoiler can be pushed independently by means of the button on the ceiling console.

The vehicle equipment includes the Start / Stop system, which completely turns off the power unit during short stops, and an energy recovery system that converts braking energy into electrical energy.
The basic version of the MINI Cooper Coupe was equipped with a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine produced by BMW and PSA Peugeot Citroen with a capacity of 122 hp. In the engine compartment Cooper S Coupe located 1.6-liter unit with turbocharging, capable of producing 184 horsepower. “Charged” John Cooper Works Coupe equipped with a forced 1.6-liter engine producing 211 hp The most powerful coupe accelerates from zero to a hundred in 6.4 seconds, and its maximum speed is 238 km / h. The car had a modification of the Cooper SD Coupe with a 2.0-liter turbo diesel (143 hp). All Mini engines comply with the Euro 5 environmental standard and are combined with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission.
The MINI Coupe was offered in four trim levels: Base, Salt, Pepper and Chili. In the basic version of the car was equipped with anti-lock braking system (ABS), stabilization system (ESP), xenon headlights, 6 airbags and an audio system with CD / MP3. As an option, rain and light sensors, automatic climate control, an on-board computer, heated front seats and side mirrors, adaptive head optics, parking sensors and a premium audio system were offered. Optionally, it was possible to order alloy 17-inch wheels and RunFlat tires.

The MINI Coupe model is equipped with informative steering and reliable brakes. The ergonomics of the car does not cause claims, but you need to get used to it. Like many MINI models, the two-seater car has a stiffer suspension: tram tracks, speed bumps and road hollows are thundered in the cabin. The car has poor insulation.
