The premiere of the MINI Paceman was held in the fall of 2012, a year after the demonstration of the conceptual prototype. In 2014, the model experienced a restyling, during which it received minor design changes and upgraded engines. The three-door crossover with a factory R61 index is built on the Countryman platform and is positioned as a car in the Sports Activity Coupe segment.

The overall length of Mini Passman is 4 109 mm, width – 1 789 mm, height – 1 530 mm.

Thus, the car was 24 mm shorter and 31 mm lower than the Countryman. The size of the wheelbase – 2 596 mm. Ground clearance – 139 mm. Trunk volume – 330 liters. When folded rear seats, this figure is 1,080 liters.

The exterior design of the MINI Paceman resembles other models of the British company. The lower part of the car body is made of unpainted plastic. In the wheel arches installed 16-inch alloy wheels with tires 195/60 R16. As an option, you can order wheels for 17, 18 or 19 inches, with tires of dimension 205/55 R17, 225/45 R18 or 225/40 R19, respectively.

Mini Passman is capable of carrying four passengers: in the car’s cabin there are four separate seats, separated by a central tunnel. Mini Paceman’s interior – a set of small and large circles – round deflectors and an infotainment system monitor, pedals and glove box handle. For the comfort of passengers are such options as climate control, leather trim and a 640 watt Harman Kardon audio system.

The three-door MINI Paceman crossover is offered with both front-wheel drive and the all-wheel drive system ALL4. The MINI ALL4 system works on the basis of a multi-plate clutch and is electronically controlled: if necessary, torque is transmitted to the rear wheels. The chassis of the car – MacPherson racks front and multi-link rear suspension.

Petrol and diesel power units are available for the MINI Paceman: a 1.6-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with a capacity of 122 hp. (Cooper) and 184 hp (Cooper S ALL4), 1.6-liter diesel engine, developing 112 hp (Cooper D), and a 2.0-liter diesel, generating 143 hp (Cooper SD). Engines are combined with standard 6-step “mechanics”. A 6-speed automatic transmission is available as an option. Diesel modifications Mini Passman in Russia are not offered.

With the lowest-powered petrol engine, the MINI Paceman accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 10.4 or 11.5 seconds (depending on the transmission). Average fuel consumption – 6-7.2 liters per 100 kilometers. Maximum speed – 192 km / h. The most powerful Cooper Paceman S ALL4 “shoots” from zero to the first hundred in 7.5 or 7.8 seconds. Average fuel consumption – 6.1-7.5 liters for every hundred ways. The maximum speed is 217 km / h.

In addition, the proposed “charged” modification MINI Cooper John Cooper Works Paceman. The car is equipped with a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine producing 218 hp. at 280 Nm. In Overboost mode, the engine torque temporarily increases to 300 Nm. In tandem with the power unit running 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h – 6.9 seconds. The maximum speed is 225 km / h (“mechanics”) and 223 km / h (“automatic”). From other modifications, the “charged” Paceman Cooper JCW is distinguished by an aerodynamic body kit and a stiffer suspension.

The Mini Passman Crossover is available in Base, Salt, Pepper and Chili trim levels. The basic equipment of the car includes alloy wheels 16 or 17 inches, air conditioning, on-board computer, fog lights, heated front seats, electric heated mirrors and power windows. As an option, you can order leather seats, 18- and 19-inch alloy wheels, climate control, rain and light sensors, xenon adaptive headlights, electric sunroof, infotainment system with a 6.5-inch display and Harman Kardon audio system.

The advantages of the MINI Paceman include compact dimensions, individual design, powerful engines, providing accelerating dynamics, good handling and efficiency. The model Mini Paceman has a rather stiff suspension. Coping requires ergonomics. Despite the presence of the all-wheel drive system ALL4, the car is not designed for off-road driving.
