Cadillac CTS debuted in the home market in 2016. In fact, the model is a planned restyling of the third generation. Changes are subtle for an inexperienced car enthusiast. The novelty has stylish elongated headlights and garlands of LED daytime running lights, duplicated on the front bumper. The radiator grill is made in the corporate style, it consists of many horizontally oriented fins and flaunts the logo of the American manufacturer. Below, on the sides of it, there are a couple of recesses taken by a plastic grill, they give the front end a more aggressive appearance. The car’s feed was also a success, the embossed bumper and two chromed exhaust pipes look amazing. All in all, the car received some nice cosmetic changes.

DIMENSIONS CADILLAC CTS

Cadillac CTS is a full-size E-class sedan. Its overall dimensions are: length 4966 mm, width 1833 mm, height 1454 mm, wheelbase 2910 mm, and the ground clearance is 155 millimeters. Such clearance is characteristic of cars whose paths are asphalt streets and suburban highways. They hold the road well, can storm small curbs during parking and remain stable at high speeds.

The luggage compartment of the Cadillac CTS is not particularly impressive for this class. Three-volume body provides only 388 liters of free space. Thanks to this spaciousness, the car will perfectly cope with the everyday tasks of a city dweller, but during a long trip with lots of luggage and several passengers on board, the sedan can lose its practicality.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION CADILLAC CTS

Cadillac CTS is equipped with two engines, an eight-band automatic transmission of variable gears, as well as rear or all-wheel drive. Thanks to a good list of presented units and their versatility, the car is able to meet most of the requests of a potential buyer.

The base engine of the Cadillac CTS is a 1998 turbocharged in-line gasoline four. Thanks to the turbocharger, the power unit develops 240 horsepower at 5500 rpm and 400 Nm of torque in the range from 3000 to 4500 revolutions of the crankshaft per minute. A sedan with rear-wheel drive will accelerate to the first hundred in 6.6 seconds, and the high-speed ceiling, in turn, will be 240 kilometers per hour. Despite the high power and good dynamics, the car is relatively economical. The fuel consumption of the Cadillac CTS will be 10.8 liters per hundred kilometers at the city pace of movement, 6.2 liters while driving on the highway and 7.8 liters in the combined cycle of movement.
The top-end Cadillac CTS engine is a V-shaped atmospheric gasoline six with a volume of 3649 cubic centimeters. Despite the lack of a turbocharger, engineers were able to squeeze out 341 horsepower at 6800 rpm and 386 Nm of torque at 5300 crankshaft revolutions per minute. With such a herd under the hood, the sedan breaks from standstill to hundreds in 6.7 seconds, and the maximum speed, in turn, will be 280 kilometers per hour. With such a volume, one should not rely on profitability. The fuel consumption of the Cadillac CTS will be 12.7 liters of gasoline per hundred in the city, 7.4 liters on the highway and 9.4 liters in the combined driving cycle.

CONCLUSION

Cadillac CTS keeps up to date. It has a stylish and elegant design, which perfectly emphasizes the individuality and status of its owner in society. Such a car will not dissolve in the gray everyday stream and will not get lost in the large parking lot of the business center. Salon is the realm of quality materials, accurate ergonomics and uncompromising comfort. Even a long trip will not be able to deliver the slightest inconvenience. The manufacturer is well aware that, first of all, the car should give driving pleasure. That is why, under the hood of the sedan is a powerful and technologically advanced power unit, which is an alloy of innovative technologies and many years of experience of engineers in the field of engine building. Cadillac CTS will serve many kilometers and give unforgettable emotions from driving.
